A healthy lifestyle is one which helps to keep and improve people’s health and well-being. Many governments and non-governmental organizations work in promoting healthy lifestyles. Healthy living is a lifelong effect. Being healthy includes healthy eating, physical activities, weight management, and stress management.

Simple Ways to Make Healthy Lifestyle Choices

  • Exercise regularly. The American Heart Association recommends at least 30 minutes of moderate-intensity activity at least five days a week, and that’s because an active lifestyle can help you achieve far more than muscle mass or weight loss

  • Eat well

  • Get enough sleep

  • Manage stress

  • Be social

  • Break bad habits.

Balanced living means considering all aspects of your life: relationships, work, fitness and health, and emotional well-being. We all get bogged down with work and family responsibilities from time to time, but making time for yourself is necessary so that you can keep up with all your responsibilities

A diet rich in vegetables, whole grains, and healthy fats is increasingly being recognized as the healthiest for your brain and body. This diet is known by many different names — from “plant-based” to “Mediterranean” — and can come in a range of variations

If you are interested in achieving optimal health and well-being, here are two important things to consider:

1. Nutrition: Nutritionists recommend five to nine servings of fruits and vegetables daily, along with fiber, protein, vitamin D and omega-3 fatty acids for an optimal diet. Obesity increases chronic disease risk, as do tobacco, the consumption of saturated and trans fats, processed foods and too much alcohol. Herbs and supplements must be carefully selected for maximum benefit and to avoid harm, but they are not a substitute for nutritious food.

2. Movement: Even moderate amounts of exercise such as walking one hour three to five times a week can prevent or treat chronic disease. Movement therapies such as yoga, qigong and tai chi benefit the body and can support emotional and spiritual healing.

7 tips to increase your energy and live a happier, healthier, more productive life:

  1. Eat nourishing food

  2. Sleep seven to eight hours a night

  3. Keep company with good people

  4. Avoid news overdose.

  5. Get regular exercise

  6. Do something meaningful each day.

  7. Think good thoughts for others.

Here are few foods that are generally unhealthy — although most people can eat them in moderation on special occasions without any permanent damage to their health.

  1. Sugary drinks

  2. Most pizzas

  3. White bread

  4. Most fruit juices

  5. Sweetened breakfast cereals

  6. Fried, grilled, or broiled food

  7. Pastries, cookies, and cakes.

Tips for Staying Healthy

  1. Be physically active for 30 minutes most days of the week

  2. Eat a well-balanced, low-fat diet with lots of fruits, vegetables, and whole grains.
